Your journey is about 8 – 9 miles. It’s going to cost somewhere between £19 and £30. Yes, that’s a huge price range, but it depends very much on what time of day you’ll be travelling. Black cab meters work out your fare according to time of day, distance travelled and taxi speed.
There are three fare bands: weekdays are cheapest; then there’s a second band for evenings and weekends, and a third fare band for journeys at night-time (between 10pm and 6am) and public holidays.
But journey time will have the most effect on your fare: if you’re trying to do this journey during rush-hour … (don’t!) … it will take far longer than at 10pm or 6am and cost much more even though it’s on a cheaper tariff.

Your best bet is to get a quote from one of the licenced cab booking companies. Here’s one I use from time to time… http://www.london-taxis.net/contactdetails.htm

TfL also has a really useful page on taxi fares here, which explains more about how they’re set and gives a ready reckoner (sadly, for shorter journeys than yours).

    Best of luck anyway.
